The Problem?
Traditional job boards often leave candidates in the dark regarding their application status, leading to "application fatigue." Common pain points identified included:
Information Overload: Users struggle to find jobs that actually match their specific skill sets among thousands of listings.
Lack of Transparency: After applying, candidates rarely know if their resume was viewed or how they compare to other applicants.
Disorganized Tracking: Managing multiple applications across different stages (saved, applied, viewed) is often manual and cumbersome.
The design solution prioritizes transparency and personalization through several key features:
Smart Activity Tracking: I designed a split-view "Activity" dashboard that allows users to toggle between "Applied" and "Saved" jobs, with clear status indicators like "Viewed by employer" to provide immediate feedback.
Resume Matching AI: To improve candidate confidence, I integrated a "Jobs match your resume" feature that displays a percentage score (e.g., "90% match"), helping users prioritize where to spend their time.
Contextual Information Architecture: The job details view provides high-level "Details" (salary, position count, deadlines) and "Job Descriptions" in a clean, scannable format to help users make quick, informed decisions.
Unified Search Experience: A simplified search and filter interface with "quick-tag" suggestions based on recent searches (e.g., "Singapore," "Remote") ensures a frictionless discovery process.
